The color purple is traditionally the color of royalty and amethyst has been used since the dawn of history to adorn the rich and powerful monarchs and rulers. Today, amethyst is a lovely and affordable gemstone that is fortunately available in a wide variety of cut and uncut stones that we can all possess and admire.
Amethyst also happens to be the gemstone for those born in the month of February.
Whilst the amethyst has many wonderful natural properties I also tend to associate it with love and romance. This being the month where lovers worldwide profess their love/intentions (not sure why this is not done on a more regular basis and why they wait an entire year to express their feelings....but to each its own) and the numerous weddings - I've done up no less than 6 custom orders - I've decided to create something for my wedding blog.
Smooth, trasnlucent, deep violet amethyst briolettes with rhodolite garnet and pink amethyst rondells dripping off a gold filled chain. These beauties drop @ approx 5 cm.

EMMALINE BLB200-10 S$48 SOLD
Plump, faceted, fire opal onion briolettes, faceted round moonstones and CZ studded sterling silver earwires. These gorgeous briolettes have a range of colors depending on lighting conditions. Much like photographing moonstones, these proved a challenge. Long story short, they're really beautiful stones. These are not opalite glass beads but actual fire opals. The epitome of wedding jewelry....romantic, elegant, clean and crisp.
Drop of 4cm.

ROSALIE BLB034-09 S$65 SOLD

I love the rose quartz stone...good quality ones that is. They have to be just that right tinge of pink, translucent and with excellent facetting. These stones are a case in point. Beautifully translucent, excellent facetting and huge to boot. AAA grade without a doubt.
To complement these beauties, I've added equally drool worthy garnets in 3 shapes, rondell, onion and pointy briolette. Connecting this rosy arrangement to the vermeil earposts is a pink mystic quartz rondell. Just perfect for the blushing bride or anyone else so inclined.
The collage with the stones held up to the light give a much more accurate image and interpretation of the quality of the stones involved.
We all know the rose quartz is the stone of love....
Love is in the air
Everywhere I look around
Love is in the air
Every sight and every sound
And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes
Remember....I'm only the messenger ;p
